If you are nervous about how all those hyphens you have in your URLs are affecting your overall SEO performance, don’t be.
According to a recent chit chat on Twitter, Google’s SEO expert John Mueller replied to the question by saying that Google’s algorithm does not view domains with hyphens as low quality.
It’s a small detail, sure, but one you can scratch off your list of SEO best practices. This is a relief, of course, as for those domain names based on multiple words, you need those hyphens to make them readable.
To take it a step further, sometimes using a hyphen or hyphens in your URLs is recommended by Google, because it makes your website easy to read for humans. As an end result, this means that your site will place better on search engines.
So, far from trying to avoid such a practice, employ it to your benefit.
