It indeed seems so – meaning users don’t even have to come up with their own opinions anymore. What is going on?
It’s part of Meta’s broader AI experimentation. Users can create their own AI bot versions of themselves, which can then engage with other users based on chosen personality traits and responses.
The thinking from Meta is that this will in fact lead to more human engagement and usage. So when real human users posts, they’ll get more responses from these bots, which might in turn encourage more (real?) humans to post themselves, and eventually, these AI bots just blend into the broader interactive mix, while also sparking more connection between those real humans.
While it might work, do we really want to read a listing of AI responses to our updates? Not so sure. Reality is though we don’t have much of a choice – because the AI train keeps gaining more and more momentum.
