There’s been a lot of speculation about the platform since Elon Musk took over. Everyone is keen to bash the direction he’s taking it, and some are even questioning whether X can survive.
What is clear is that the user numbers have been hit. That is, of course, if you believe the numbers put forth by Apptopia. Their recently released report shows that current daily active users (DAUs) tops out at around 121 million. To give a little context here, this marks a 13% drop since Musk took over one year ago.
So why should we question those numbers? Well X claims a DAU figure of 253 million. How can we possibly comment on such a variance?
What we do know is that there has been a lot of negative sentiment around the platform, with advertiser boycotts, users complaining about all sorts of things, and employees former and present painting a less-than-flattering workplace picture.
