According to a recent report, AI loves Reddit – and perhaps a bit too much.

The study was carried out by SEMRush and  was based on 5,000 keywords and 150,000 LLM citations. AI responses were reviewed across Google Search Overviews, Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, and Perplexity.

According to the data, just over 40% of facts returned by AI bots came from Reddit. The next most popular source of information was Wikipedia at 26.3%, followed by YouTube and Google at 23.5% and 23.3% respectively.

For marketers the takeaway is clear: In addition to ranking on Google, you need to find ways to promote your brand on other sites including Reddit.
