In a recent reveal, YouTube’s CEO said that TV has surpassed mobile and is now the primary device for YouTube viewing in the US by watch time.
What’s more, according to Nielsen YouTube has been number one in streaming watch time in the U.S. for two years.
For marketers this opens up some opportunities, including:
- Leveraging new ad formats like QR codes and ‘pause ads’
- Creating high-quality content tailored for big screens
- Embracing new opportunities like video podcasts
It’s an interesting development no doubt, and one that we would never have seen coming.
