Monitor your competitors’ content

So you want to win at content creation?

Hint… take a look at your competitors! One important point about content marketing is that it doesn’t always have to be original. If something works, there’s no point breaking the mould. If you spot some great competitor content that’s working well with customers, then you can create it too. Just make it even better.

Look at topics (or rather, sub-topics) that have less competition. If there are fewer articles out there about your sub-topic, the engagement for those few articles will be high. Come at your subject from a slightly different angle or with different emphasis and you’ll avoid the saturated market.

You can keep up to speed with what they cover that you don’t, and build an understanding of what works and what doesn’t. Don’t copy their work but do get a handle on important themes then look for gaps.
